Traditional Tae Kwon-Do
The Taekwon-do classes are structured to provide students with 15-20
minutes of warm-up exercises. Following warm-up, students are divided
into belt levels to begin work with patterns, or Korean forms (tuls).
Patterns assist students with stances, blocks, punches, focusing,
concentration and speed. Self-defense and point sparring are also part of
the Unified Taekwon-Do curriculum. Hand releases, block attacks, and
various kicking techniques teach the students how to protect themselves
and/or flee to safety in dangerous or unexpected situations.
At Unified Taekwon-Do, students may choose from several programs:
12 months or 18 months 3 years, each payable on a monthly tuition
schedule. We also offer seasonal short-term and trial programs for all
ages.
Specialized martial arts equipment is required to ensure safety in all
aspects of student training. One example within the class structure that
requires specific equipment is traditional point sparring. Students
practice point sparring in the classroom and in tournament competition,
and must wear protective head, hand, and foot gear for individual safety.
All necessary martial arts equipment, uniforms, and paraphernalia are
ordered, stocked, and sold at the school for immediate and convenient
purchase by parents and students.
